DeLuca Seeks LGDF Increase

Dear Valued Constituent,
As the Chairman of the House Cities & Villages Committee and the former Mayor of Chicago Heights, I am keenly aware of the important state of funding for municipal government.
I understand when the state distributes more Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF) to municipal operations, public safety improves and property taxes stay lower.  As crime increases in many communities, the state must do its part to provide this critical funding so police departments have necessary resources to keep our communities safe.
I am once again leading the charge in Springfield to increase the portion of state income tax dollars that are distributed to municipal government through the Local Government Distributive Fund.  This will help keep our communities safe and help limit future property tax increases.
Please see the attached letter sent to the governor asking him to support HB4169, the bill I'm sponsoring with the backing of many councils of governments from across the state.

Sincerely,

Illinois 80th District includes portions of:

Townships: Bloom, Crete, Custer, Florence, Frankfort, Green Garden, Manhattan, Monee, New Lenox, Peotone, Reed, Rich, and Wilton

Municipalities: Braidwood, Chicago Heights, Flossmoor, Frankfort, Glenwood, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Manhattan, Matteson, Mokena, Monee, New Lenox, Olympia Fields, Park Forest, Richton Park, South Chicago Heights, Steger, Symerton, University Park, and Wilmington
