Lowering Property Taxes

DeLuca Continues Work to Lower Property Taxes - Introduces Plan to Prohibit Taxpayer-Funded Guaranteed Income Programs

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. – As part of his continued efforts to lower property taxes and the need to responsibly manage taxpayer dollars, state Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Chicago Heights, has introduced a measure that would prohibit governments from using taxpayer money to fund guaranteed income programs.

“We must focus our limited resources on essential services that families depend on – including schools, public safety and infrastructure,” DeLuca said. “I also want to pursue opportunities that provide property tax relief for my constituents, not costly new government spending that applies further pressure to their property tax bill.”

DeLuca’s House Bill 4648 would ban the use of taxpayer dollars for guaranteed income programs.

“The programs we have seen cost tens of millions of dollars, while the same governments running them continue to ask for more from taxpayers,” DeLuca said. “Let’s prioritize property tax relief and responsible spending that supports safer communities and quality schools for everyone.”

Sincerely,
