News from State Rep Anthony DeLuca

Dear Valued Constituent

As your voice in Springfield, my efforts have been focused on supporting those battling COVID-19, ensuring essential services continue uninterrupted, and providing critically-needed resources for the residents in our community who have been impacted by this health and economic crisis.

In addition to supporting a budget that prioritize these goals,  I backed legislation to help families by:

  • Expanding access to tele-health care and mental health care, while also directing the state’s top health and insurance officers to provide recommendations to lower the cost of health insurance (Senate Bill 1864).
  • Helping homeowners by immediately  suspending property tax late payment penalties and tax sales, as well as creating a one-year application deferral for seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities who already receive tax exemptions (Senate Bill 685).
  • Easing the process of receiving workers’ compensation benefits for first responders and workers at essential business who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while allowing laid off and furloughed workers to recoup a larger percentage of their previous income through unemployment (Senate Bill 471).
  • Supporting teachers and schools with remote learning (Senate Bill 1569).

The reality is we are not finished.  I will continue to work with community leaders, lawmakers and local residents to address our current crisis and to continue building a stronger Illinois for all families.
